Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ Flea is a Blade!
While on stage at the Reading Festival, Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ Flea yelled from the stage
“Sheffield United beat the f*** out of West Brom today. Go Blades! I’m just caught up in the Blades fever!”
For those of you that are looking around blankly, wondering if all those years of socks n’ drugs n’ rock’ n’ roll have finally take their toll, Sheffield United are a football (or soccer if you prefer…) team, who get their name from Sheffeild’s time as the knife and fork capital of the world. Just in case you were still wondering West Brom (West Bromwich Albion if you want their full-ish title, also known as The Baggies) are another team that play in the Championship (this is the level below the Premiership – why do I get the feeling you are getting more confused by the minute?) and they had a game over the weekend. Quite why Flea has pledged his allegiance to them is a unknown, although he could have been persuaded by his show-biz chums as they are the team of choice of Sean Bean and several members of Def Leppard….. Oh, and just in case you were wondering The Blades beat the Baggies 1-0
