This is amazing, a homeless French woman was moved from her pitch after asbestos was discovered in the wall and it was to be demolished. She was reluctant to move and the police soon found out why, she had mananged to acquire €68 400 from passers by! So the obvious moral of this story is, er I have no idea, but it’s quite funny!
Smoke on Trent
Author: tulip
Ah, local councils. I live in the realm of Tower Hamlets in East London, widely acclaimed as the second worst council to live under in the country (we should start a rivalry with our neighbours Hackney…the worst!) so I am all too aware of the joys of paying a fortune in council tax for, well very little in fact! Still it looks like another member of the audit commission’s crap councils, Stoke-on-Trent, has accidently made itself popular by not knowing it’s arse from it’s smoking ban legislation, has managed to make it impossible for themselves to enforce then ban until a month after everyone else.
Dax Robateau, owner of the Smithfield pub in Stoke on Trent, said, “We were all ready for the ban on July 1. It seems the only people who weren’t ready were the council.” They’ll probably up the council tax now to make up for the short-fall in budget due to the lack of fines….

A study from the University of Arizona has been published casting doubt on the long held theory that women talk up to three times more than men. They tested this not only against the sex of the person involved, but also against their personality type and discovered the amount spoken was the same across both sexes, it was the personality type that determined how much people talk i.e. extroverts talk more than introverts. Now if they did a study on listening it would be interesting to see as I get the feeling that the idea that men don’t listen is also shi…utter rubbish too, it is simply down to the way the sexes express themselves. Men don’t inherently understand the female mind and vice versa. It’s not about not listening, it is about not understanding. Read the rest of this entry »

*THAT* OJ Simpson book
Author: tulip
You may remember that last year OJ Simpson was going to release a book about how he might have committed the murders, if indeed he had done them The digust that this caused had the publisher shelve the release of the book, destroy all copies and cancel a TV special. Well a copy seems to have surfaced, get it while you can through bitTorrent.
Alcho-pops, soooo last week

You can imagine them all sitting there in the marketing department, ‘Why bother with pretending you are making a drink for adults when you are making it for kids, why not just make a beer for kids?’

Lap Dancers get an airing
Author: tulip

This one caught my eye but I can’t think why! Some Lap Dance club has put a 100 000 sq ft advert in a field near Gatwick that the local council aren’t too happy about as they don’t have planning permission….does this mean ET needed planning permision for those crop circles then?
It’s also not the first time they’ve run into trouble with this, although this time it might actually be for a product I could possibly see myself using….
Invasion from the Planet Migraine….
Author: tulip
This article did make me laugh. Some guy in Canada was in hospital for an operation, when they cut into him rather than finding some reddy goo that medically trained folk like to call blood in his veins, they were confronted with some greeny goo! After a bit of a panic it emerged that this was a ‘normal’ side effect of some migraine tablets he was taking.
Just got to wonder what would have happened if Read the rest of this entry »
